Description Easy J is a bebop composition I wrote for the University of London Jazz Quintet (as performed on the mp3). It's reminiscent of the early Charlie Parker style, and is written to sound trickier than it actually is to play. Thus, the runs and jumps flow quite nicely for the trumpet and the tenor saxophone (I have not tried it with other instruments though!).

The chords are also quite nice for improvising over and don't go off-key much, nor are there too many extensions (though these could always be added by more enterprising performers!)

The PDF comes with the Leadsheet "score" and parts in Bb, Eb, C [treble clef], C [bass clef]. Also comes with a chord guide sheet and an example walking bass line for less experienced pianists and bass players.

I'm very happy to provide parts in additional keys if required - just get in touch at michael.roberts@ucl.ac.uk
