Description Written for my friends in Hermosillo, Mexico, Sonidos de Sonora is an exciting foray into the world of Latin-rock. It's intended to conjure images of riding horses around the Sonoran desert.

Performance-wise it should be a straightforward task for most instruments. The most difficult aspects would be 1st trumpet, which has some high notes, shakes and a couple of quick runs. There are also one or two notes in the altissimo register for the alto, although alternative notes are provided in case the performer would rather stick to the regular register.

The solo section is intended to be trumpet/saxophone with optional trombone backings, but it could be extended and given to other instruments. A guitar solo would also work very nicely, though the trombone backings would have to be careful not to overpower it.

The score comes will all parts formatted. Piano/bass/guitar parts come with chords. Please get in touch at michael.roberts@ucl.ac.uk with any comments, feedback or requests. As always I'd be happy to alter/rearrange the score for you if you have particular needs.

Thanks for listening & I hope you enjoy the piece!
