Performance-wise, dynamics are crucial in a piece like this. It's especially important that the saxes and trombones take a back seat in the main tune sections, supplementing the trumpets rather than dominating them. The solos are written out but chords are there too for improvisation if the player wants, but try to keep it sweet.
Hope you enjoy it :) Sorry there is only a MIDI so far, but if you check out the small band version of this piece (same name) you can hear the tune played live there, with some of the harmonies from the big band arrangement appearing at the end of that mp3.
